The outdoor onsen at Hotel Goryukan was a fantastic way to unwind after a day on the slopes, providing a serene atmosphere and beautiful views.
The beds in our room were too firm, leading to discomfort throughout our stay, which could use some attention.

the only somewhat admirable thing about this hotel was the onsen, although you’d think they’d enforce some proper etiquette. the room was certainly well-worn, showing little care. i also expected a complimentary upgrade for enduring the absurdity of waiting for service in such a rundown establishment, but alas, nothing. overall, i just couldn’t recommend this place.

the only downside was the slightly firm bed. but the hotel staff were super friendly, the onsen was a lovely highlight to relax in after skiing, and the delicious buffet breakfast offered both western and japanese dishes for everyone!

We appreciated the size of the Standard Triple Room, which comfortably accommodated our family. The beautiful mountain view from our room added to the experience, making it a joy to wake up each day. The buffet breakfast offered a delightful variety, which pleased everyone in our party.
